Prof. Craig's research focuses on the development and application of improved methods for modeling surface water, groundwater, heat transport, discontinuous permafrost, and the surface water / groundwater interface.

Current research addresses the development and assessment of robust numerical surface and subsurface simulation software and algorithms, improved upscaling approaches for representing hydrologic phenomena at regional scales, strategies for model calibration and analysis, and novel applications of hybrid numerical-analytical solution approaches to interesting hydrologic problems.
