Graduate Student Research Assistantships Available for 2010

I am looking for highly qualified students with research interests in statistical aspects of surface water hydrology and/or the analysis of the impacts of climate change.

Almost all of the research projects I am involved in involve the analysis of hydrological data often involving the development and use of a variety of statistical tools and techniques.

Funding for research projects is available in the following areas:

  • Pooled (regional) frequency analysis and the evaluation of the homogeneity of pooling groups
  • Multivariate frequency analysis for drought events for multiple sites
  • The impacts of climate change on hydrological variables and water availability

Graduate Research Assistantships:

  • $16,500 per year (MASc)
  • $19,000 per year (PhD)

With various other sources of funds (merit scholarships and teaching assistantships), the average support for a fulltime graduate student in 2008 was $26,800.  Students who have applied for, or hold, NSERC or OGS scholarships, or NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellowships are encouraged to enquire at anytime about research opportunities.

If you hold a NSERC or an OGS scholarship you will automatically receive the University of Waterloo President's Graduate Scholarship valued at $10,000/year.

Please contact me if you are interested.
