President

The President of the UW-ITE Student Chapter is the face of the chapter, and the primary contact for external parties and the student chapter advisor. They provide leadership and supervision to other members of the executive and the chapter.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Chairing chapter executive meetings and general meetings
  • Ensuring the chapter stays active with students and in external ITE events
  • Supervising chapter activities and committees
  • Understanding responsibilities of other members and ensuring timelines are met and established early
  • Improving membership

Vice-President

The Vice-President assists the President in accomplishing their duties.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Organizing events that require special coordination
  • Monitoring progress of event planning
  • Chairing committees of volunteers who plan academic and social events

Secretary

The Secretary maintains the chapter records and all communications.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate chapter records (membership lists, meeting minutes, reports on activities and projects, copies of correspondence)
  • Submitting articles to the section/district newsletter and ITE Journal
  • Coordinating submission of the annual report
  • Conducting most communication with other parties
  • Managing the webmaster and working together to maintain the chapter’s digital presence

Treasurer

The Treasurer is the guardian of the chapter’s finances.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Collecting all chapter dues and fees functions and paying bills
  • Keeping proper records of all receipts and expenditures, bank account deposits, reconciliation of bank account and payment of accounts;
  • Processing reimbursements responsibly with the Department of Civil Engineering, who maintains the UW-ITE bank account
  • Maintaining the current list of all members with their membership status
  • Preparing financial statements annually and for each general meeting.
  • Coordinating submission of the annual report
  • Developing a sponsorship program

 

Webmaster

The Webmaster manages the digital presence of the chapter, and works with the Secretary of the chapter.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Keeping the website up to date
  • Managing the mailing list
