The CEE S21 Ambassador team felt it would be a cool idea to host a scavenger hunt with weekly prizes! In the past, EngSoc hosted in-person scavenger hunts throughout the term. We thought we’d get a little creative and do an online submission-based scavenger hunt for easy and not-so-easy items that can be found (hopefully) around you wherever you are!

How will this event work?
Each week we will ask you to scavenge for 5-6 new items. These items will sometimes be easier to find and sometimes more difficult (but never impossible!). Once you collect all the items for the corresponding week, you will need to take a quick picture of the items and submit them to us for review. Each submission will count towards one entry for our weekly raffle, and you will only need to collect five of the six items to qualify. At the end of each week, we will pull a lucky winner from the pool and award them a prize. This event will run from June 28, 2021, to August 15, 2021.
What is the general timeline?
We will announce the new scavenger items and open submissions for the respective week every Monday at 13:00 EDT. You will be able to view our announcements through the links directly below. The submissions for the respective week will remain open until the following Sunday at 23:59 EDT.
How can you participate?
You can either split up into groups of 2-3 or participate individually. Once you determine how you’ll participate, please sign up for the event using the link directly below. If you chose to participate in a group, please choose one representative to fill out the survey. This individual will also be responsible for your group’s submissions.
How do the submissions work?
The online submissions will be collected using the Submission Survey linked below. You’ll also be able to access the submission surveys in our weekly announcements. If you chose to participate in a group, the group representative will be the only person required to complete the survey. Your submissions must include pictures of items next to a piece of paper with your name on it (Click here to view an example of a submission).
If you’re unable to submit your photos through the survey, please email us your pictures directly at cee.eng.amb@gmail.com. Within your email, be sure to include your full name, student ID, student email, and indicate whether or not you’re participating in a group.
Additional Information
- One group submission will count for one entry in the raffle
- You cannot re-use items across groups/submissions (i.e., two groups may not submit pictures of the same pinecone. We are watching!).
Prizes
Weekly raffle winners will receive a gift card to various restaurants depending on how they chose to participate. Each member in a group submission will receive a $10 gift card if they win. Meanwhile, if a single submission wins the raffle, they’ll receive a $20 gift card instead.
We’ll remove the winner’s entries from the pool each week, but the entries for those who didn’t win will remain in the pool. This way, it gives a weighted opportunity to those who haven’t won yet; while maintaining a smaller chance of consecutive wins. However, to qualify for the weekly prize, you’ll need to submit all your items for the respective week. If you happen to miss a submission, your entries will be removed from the pool for the current week. All your previous entries will return to the pool once you submit your items for the following week.
