ViZpector Technology Inc. was created by the University of Waterloo to commercialize an asset inspection and capital renewal optimization technology invented by Professor Tarek Hegazy of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This unique technology is protected by a US pending patent.

Corporate Strength

Located at the University of Waterloo Accelerator Centre, the Company works closely with talented graduate students (Masters and PhD in diverse engineering disciplines including Civil, Electrical and Mechanical) to offer a flexible and diverse work force through the unique coop program at the University of Waterloo.  ViZpector also collaborates with the Project and Facility Management group at Conestoga College.

In collaboration with the University of Waterloo, the Company can offer cost-effective superior training programs designed to meet a broad range of customer requirements.

ViZpector is supported by the Toronto District School Board in its on-going research on inspection data acquisition and capital renewal optimization.

The Company has a management team possessing experience beyond many larger and more established companies in the same business sector.

Management

CEO: Sam Visaisouk, Ph.D., specializes in innovation commercialization and start-up operations.  Among his Ontario start-ups are Tyromer Inc., Marksman Cellject Inc., Segasist Inc. and Greencore Composites Inc.  He is responsible for corporate operations.

CTO: Professor Tarek Hegazy, PhD., P.Eng., developed the visual inspection tool and renewal optimization technology.  This technology was validated via a 5-school pilot in collaboration with the Toronto District School Board.  tarek@uwaterloo.ca
