Transportation Engineering

castle Transportation Engineering includes areas of study such as traffic engineering, pavement management systems, public transit, transportation planning, transport systems analysis and transport economics, each of which can be studied in the urban, inter-urban and/or rural contexts. Current research activities include investigations of the operation of traffic signal systems, modelling integrated freeway-arterial networks, priority in traffic, pavement design, management of pavement systems, urban models, transit demand and management, economics of transport, road accident analysis, rail derailment analysis, environmental transport models, and quantitative risk assessment for transporting dangerous goods.
