Fireball XL5 Tenth
Anniversary Extravaganza

It was everything you could hope for in a tenth anniversary show: good music, good talk, good friends, and of course CAKE! I was very happy with the 5 hour Fireball XL5 Tenth anniversary Extravaganza. I of course have to thank Jayson, Derek, Sari, Peter, Shannon, Mark, and Cath for coming out to personally join in the celebration. The show was designed to start in the recent past and then slowly work our way until the start of the 90s when my history on CKMS began. Even though the show was 5 hours long I still didn't have enough time to play everything so there will probably be future sets picking up the remaining bits from this show. And if you listen to one thing (which is probably more than most people will check out) the crazy version of the 10th anniversary theme when it skipped in the CD player at 112 minutes into the show. 10 Anniversary Extravaganza Setlist TALK - Theme (Frank and Michelle talking about the upcoming show) John Southworth - Food or Feminine (C) The New Pornographers - The slow descent into alcoholism (C) The dinner is Ruined - Ray Charles Party (C) Blur - There's no other way Fatboy Slim - Talking bout my baby TALK (Frank and Michelle talk about people who have played in Waterloo recently) Paul McLeod - Giants (C) Ron Sexsmith & the Uncool - In this Love (C) Swinghammer - Tammy left Town (C) snack! - Fool (C) King Cobb Steelie - Home (C) TALK (my Spirit of the West spotlight) <Earliest clip I have of my on the air talking about Spirit of the West - 1990 10 03> Spirit of the West - John Goodman (C) Spirit of the West - Political (C) <Clip of me and Gord Murray talking about Spirit of the West - 1994 02 18> Spirit of the West - Venus is Sinking (C) Spirit of the West - Armstrong & the Guys (C) ** See Note 1 Lyle Lovett - Ain't it something TALK (Michelle and I go a further back in the 90s) <Bates motel promo - 1993 05 07> Looper - Burning Flies Belle & Sebastian - Summer Wasting Mercury Rev - Hudson Line <Clip of my 25th show with Brett Davison - 1992 04 06> Billy Bragg & Wilco - Hesitating Beauty DOA - Death to the Multinationals (C) JFK & the Conspirators - Tell me Baby (C) <Version of the 10th anniversary theme that played funny in the CD player> TALK (joined by Jayson laughing about the CD skipping) Throwing Muses - Freeloader Jale - Allready (C) Pavement - Shady Lane <Clip of Craig Hepburn and myself acting silly on the air - 1991 03 12> Cibo Matto - Sugar Water Liz Phair - Jealousy Cub - Way to Go (C) <Clip of me and Jane Stone from a very early show - 1991 01 14> Watchmen - Boneyard Tree (C) TALK (Michelle went to pick up Derek and Sari so I played stuff she wouldn't like) Pet Shop Boys - Wouldn't normally do this kind of thing Rawlins Cross - Colleen (C) <Clip of my interview with Uische Baetha > Uische Baetha - Whose Child is this?
