Welcome to and back to Waterloo!

This web site was developed to provide guidance through our graduate and undergraduate programs. At Waterloo, we strive to provide you with all the necessary skills for a rewarding career in Civil Engineering. Educating an engineer is a team effort. The Civil and Environmental Engineering department and its faculty provide a modern, state of the art curriculum designed to provide our graduates with a world-class engineering education. With hard work and dedication, our students can be confident that they will be at a competitive edge when they enter the professional workforce.

We are here to help you get the most out of your engineering education. We encourage you to take every opportunity made available to you in our program. Take the time to talk to your instructors. You have direct access to recognized experts in structural design, river mechanics, groundwater rehabilitation, water treatment, pavement design, construction management, traffic engineering, transit operations and planning, transportation safety analysis and more.

If this is your first year at Waterloo, additional information and help with your first-year of studies can be found at the First-Year Engineering website. If you need academic advice or simply have questions and do not know who to approach, do not hesitate to contact Bob McKillop.

We hope that this web site will be able to quickly answer most of your questions about the Civil Engineering program at Waterloo. Links to many important academic and professional web sites have been provided for your convenience. If you need more information, feel free to drop by and visit Shirley Springall in the Undergraduate Office or Sara Stewart in the Graduate Office.
